Rockfactory's teachers include some of the best instructors available.  Lesson rates range from $20-25 per half hour, depending upon the teacher you choose.

Nick Antonaccio:

Nick has been performing and teaching guitar professionally for more than 26 years. He earned a masters degree in guitar studies from Indiana University (BA 1993, MM 1995), and has taught more than 2000 private guitar students including numerous professional performers and instructors. His book Guitar Study was used as required curriculum for all guitar courses at Indiana University music school, he created several K-12 programs including the local Newtown Friends School, and his video series "Guitar Techniques" has helped numerous students learn a unique approach to playing guitar. Nick can be heard on many recordings and media publications including film music, commercials, and performances with Grammy award winning performers. Nick is an endorsed artist with Kaman Music Corp. The following are just a few highlights of his performance career:

American Cabaret Theater - ACT has been recognized by major publications includingTime Magazine, The New York Times, Newsweek, NBC TV, The Associated Press, and The Indianapolis Star. Indianapolis' Nuvo magazine called ACT "The best musical entertainment in town". Nick was the principal guitarist for ACT from January, 1998 to July, 2004, and played more than 600 commercial performances at this venue. Other artists and groups with whom Nick has performed include:

The New York Philharmonic Orchestra, with Leonard Slatkin conducting (Bloomington, 1990)

Peter Baltes:

Peter is a genuine heavy metal hero. In the past 26 years, Peter has made 14 albums with his legendary group ACCEPT, selling 30 million records to fans around the world. Peter's music helped forge a new heavy metal musical style during the 70's, 80's and 90's that became part of mainstream popular culture, and which made ACCEPT one of the biggest worldwide stars in that genre. 9 years after the band's separation, a search on Google still reveals the band's fan page as the number one link for the word "accept". A quick browse of record indexes list ACCEPT's inclusion on more than 50 albums, and dedications from millions of fans around the world define ACCEPT as one of the most historically significant and loved metal bands of the past 30 years. Peter has also played bass on Dokken's "Breaking the Chains" album (1983) and on "Up From The Ashes".  Other credits include:

  • Recorded background vocals on the Scorpions "Love at First Sting" album.
  • Played the 1984 Monsters of Rock festival world tour.
  • Toured with Van Halen, AC/DC, Judas Priest, Ozzy Ozbourne, Ted Nugent, Elton John, KISS, Cheap Trick, ZZ Top, and many many more.
  • Played on John Norum’s albums "Face The Truth", "Worlds Away", and more.
  • Voted #1 bass player in Burn Magazine reader's poll 1985
  • Voted best bass player in Europe, Metal Hammer magazine 1985.
  • Studio performances with  Simon Wright (AC/DC), Terry Bozzio (Frank Zappa, Missing Persons, Steve Vai), etc), Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple), Gary Moore, and many more.

Peter is now accepting private online bass students, and students who want to study composition, arranging, and Pro Tools. He also provides personal consultation about the music business for up and coming young performers.

Ryan Gaughan:

Ryan majored in jazz studies at Berkeley school of music, but he also plays all mainstream rock, blues, and country styles, along with traditional classical guitar. Ryan performs regularly around the Philadelphia area with his popular band Among Criminals, and can be heard on several original CD recordings. He's been teaching professionally for more than 5 years, and has a strongly defined musical character that he loves to share with his students.

Ryan's lesson rate is $23 per half hour.


Jarrod Pedone:  
 
Jarrod graduated cum laude from Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor's Degree in Film Scoring with a focus on Drumset Performance in 2006. He is currently performing very often with several groups in the Philadelphia/New York areas. One of his current bands, "Among Criminals," has embarked on several national tours and has logged over 350 performances all around the continental US. Jarrod also works as a sound engineer in his own recording studio. Some of the music produced there has gone on to be bought and used by internet and television advertisers. Most music features Jarrod playing drumset, guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, percussion, as well as singing. Jarrod's music influences include Rock, Afro-Cuban, R&B, Soul, Jazz, Funk, Bluegrass,  World Music, Hip-hop, Reggae and Gospel and he has studied under greats such as Jackie Santos, Francisco Mela, Victor Mendoza (Vibraphone), Kenwood Dennard  and Yoron Isreal.


Mark Carson:

Mark studied music at Bucks County Community College and performs regularly with the popular local band KB Noise (formerly Boss Tweed).  Mark is a full time instructor, who sees more than 40 guitar and bass students each week at the Rockfactory.   The also runs the regular Sunday jam sessions, and has mentored a number of young up and coming groups including the Crash Pillows and the To Be Determined band.   His students have been seen at numerous Newtown performance including Newtown Welcome Day, Music in the Park, First Night, and others.

Mark's lesson rate is $23 per half hour


Brian Lynch:

Brian has a degree in audio engineering, and is currently the lead guitarist, lead singer, and songwriter for KB Noise.  He can be heard performing regularly at well known venues in Philadelphia and the surrounding area.  Brian teaches 6 days a week at the Rockfactory, and is currently accepting beginner - advanced guitar students of all ages.

Brian's lesson rate is $23 per half hour.


Chris Kelly

Chris is our youngest instructor (16), but his professional experience as  a performer is diverse and his talent and dedication as an instructor is unsurpassed.  Chris' performances as lead guitarist for numerous School of Rock events have brought him front and center on many of the largest stages in the region.  Chris teaches mainstream rock and heavy metal guitar to students of all ages, but has a well rounded background in many styles of music.  Chris is well recognized among the RockFactory instructors as both a brilliant technical performer and an inspiring teacher.

Chris' lesson rate is $20 per half hour.


Doug Bell:

Doug is one of our most versatile guitar instructors.  He's an absolutely phenomenal rock guitarist, with a brillant technique and a flare for genuine blues sounds.  Anyone who's seen Doug perform around the area knows that he's the real deal - his live sound is second to none.  What many people don't know is that he's just as versed in traditional classical guitar technique and repertoire, and is deeply knowledgable in the art of fingerstyle chord-melody guitar arranging.  If you're serious about pushing your general guitar skills to a new level in any area of playing, Doug should be on your short list of requested instructors.

Doug's lesson rate is $23 per half hour.


Steve Trimble:

Steve has a music performance degree Berkeley School of music.  Steve is experienced at teaching all mainstream styles of music, and is currently accepting beginner - advanced students of all ages.

Steve's lesson rate is $23 per half hour.


Alex Dichter

Alex is currently attending Bucks County Community College as a full time music student.  He plays all styles of mainstream popular music, but is particularly experienced as a hard rock and heavy metal maestro.  If you like Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Trium, etc., Alex is your man.

Alex's lesson rate is $23 per half hour.


Stef Emery:

Stefanie has been playing violin for 12 years with a strong background in orchestra and solo performance.  She has studied contemporary and jazz violin with teachers from the Berklee College of Music in Boston.  She also studied privately for 3 years with Julliard graduate Victoria Voronyansky.  Stef majored in music for two years at Bucks County Community College with instruction in ear training, music theory, and vocals.  While participating in the Swing Singers vocal ensemble she trained with Jerry Nowak, a well known vocalist and commercial jingle writer. While attending Bucks she furthered her violin studies with Russel Hoffman, head of the string department, and board member of the Delaware Valley Philharmonic Orchestra.  Her goals are to teach students technique, the basics of music theory, and also the specific musical styles they are interested in playing and singing.

Stef's lesson rate is $25 per half hour.
