GREENER ON THE OTHER SIDE


I worked 60 hours a week
for almost all my years
Spent my time chasing money
Built myself some careers

But, all I really wanted back then
was to get out and have some fun
To have some time to relax
to know my work was done

Well now I get it every day
I've got nothing pressing me
But all I can think about now
is how good it used to be


The grass is always greener
on the other side
It doesn't matter what you've got
or how you stay occupied
You know you'll find something to wish for
The one thing that's guaranteed, is
You'll always want what you don't have
There's always something else to need

So take it from someone who's been around
the block a couple laps
before you give it up
don't fall into those old traps
What looks like heaven waiting
Is not what you think it'll be

And you'll miss what you've got dearly

It was harder than it sounds
