THANKSGIVING


There's a time when we give thanks                    I  III7
And we all go to visit uncle Frank's                  vi  iv
It should be about recognizing our gifts
But we end up just eating in shifts

The pilgrims got started with a huge meal            vi  V   
They ate their turkey and their corn meal            IV  I
We've upped the ante just a little bit
And now we eat til our pants don't fit

Turkey and dressing, give me some more               ii  iii
Peppers and beans and potatoes galore                IV  V
We all know what this day is for
I don't want to be able to fit through the door

Thanksgiving time is here                            I    V

I wanna eat everything on my plate                   IV   V
Thankgiving time is the best
Give me a drum stick, a thigh, and a breast
Thanksgiving time is for uncles and aunts
and letting out the seams on our pants

Side dishes of veggies and my favorite stuffing
I'll eat it all - I'm not bluffing
Cheese and crackers, chestnuts and fruit
When it's all done, we all have to toot

Don't worry though, you're with family
Aunt Elda burps uncontrollably
The bathroom is busy all night long
Oh my God, it smells so strong
